The 2010 Best Practices Exchange will take place in Phoenix, Arizona, Wednesday, 29 September through Friday, 1 October. The program may also include a one day pre-conference workshop on digital preservation management.
The Best Practices Exchange program has always been a grass-roots effort, with presentations by individuals working in the field who want to share their knowledge and get insights from others. This is a moderated list, which originated as a discussion forum for the group using state GILS metadata for electronic publications at the state government level. The list has expanded to be a forum for discussing all aspects of providing access to state government information. That includes topics such as preservation of old, fragile paper documents, issues involved in depository programs, GILS, digitizing projects, electronic archiving, outreach, and related topics.
